One more Episode to go!

We have made a lot of progress in the mini radio drama series. We are now left with just episode three. Just to recap, here is a brief outline of all three episodes.

Episode one introduces most of these characters and the story unfolds with Nandipha going to the clinic to get contraceptives only to be met by the rude nurse. She then slept with her older man “suger daddy” or Bra mike without protection. It becomes clear from the get go that Nandipha only likes Bra mike for his money.

In episode two we find out that Nandipha is actually pregnant and we are introduced to Sipho her ex-boyfriend who might also be the father of her unborn child. Bra-mike reveals his abusive side and slaps his increasingly suspicious wife and finally he encourages Nandipha to abort her unborn child. Nandipha considers suicide as she does not see a way out of her tough situation.

And finaly in episode three we see Nandipha’s parents coming around and giving support once they realised that she was actually pregnant. Nandipha is not sure who the father of her child is but decides to name Bra-Mike the father.  

Episode two sounds so much better and has really improved from what we achieved in episode one. We  took into consideration the recommendations that  we recieved from the focus group.  I personally have enjoyed the scripting, Vicky and I work like hand and glove when we script. I think this term our partnership and relationship has improved, we both have confidence in each other and we have divided the work load to suit our strenghts. 

The scripting is not only left with us... the Ikhaya team recieves the script a day in advance and they edit it as they see fit before we record.  Now we are left we two big task finding a realistic of handing over the project and to ensure that Radio Grahamstown also comes on board but these two matter will be discussed into further detail on the next blog update.
